Bob is a member of one of the rarest species in the world: the well-rounded geek. When he is not writing stories or narrating podcasts, he can be found writing and debugging computer programs, designing web sites, playing with his grandchildren, remodeling his house, or playing Call of Duty with the Good Samaritans. The first part of Bob’s life was spent in Asia. He was born in Taiwan, where his parents were missionaries. He lived in Taiwan for nine years, Singapore for a year, and Indonesia for seven years. So far, Bob has learned—and mostly forgotten—how to speak Chinese, Indonesian, Spanish, and German. He has also taught himself to read and write Greek and Hebrew, although these are particularly rusty at the moment. In college, Bob majored in history, mostly because it seemed a lot easier than trying to work for a living. However, knowing that he would have to put food on the table, he also hung out with the programming crowd. For the past 25 years, he has supported his family through programming. His love for history has given him the ability to see the broad picture, while his software development background has sharpened his eye for critical details. Coupled with his early experiences in Asia, his passion for history and eye for detail have found a perfect home in his writing. Bob lives in Olathe, Kansas, with his wife, Robin. For over 25 years, she has been his inspiration and best friend. Bob and Robin have two daughters and two granddaughters. |
